Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on with my ficus triangularis? It’s been dropping leaves like crazy and I’ve noticed some of them have spots on them. Is it a pest or disease? Or water issue? Or something else?

I would guess it’s feeling overwatered by the photos. However they do not like being near a draft so if it’s near an A/C vent they can spontaneously drop leaves as well.
0 LikesLovely plant! Can you send a closer photo of the leaf in your last pic here? Maybe I’m being paranoid because I just found thrips on my own plants, but that looks like it might possibly be the early stages of thrips damage???
0 LikesIt’s not much better though haha! What do thrips look like?
0 LikesThrips are tiny insects, I think usually black but some stages are lighter? Damage comes from their babies sucking the life out of the leaves, which looks like a pale, discoloured patch, or slowly fading to yellow and then brown. Generally in photos I also see lots of tiny black speckles (it’s their faeces, which means it can be washed off). I am by no means an expert though, only just did a lot of reading as I’m currently dealing with my own infestation!
