Help!! I moved my spider plant outside. It was doing amazing, until it wasn’t. 1) does anyone know what would cause this? 2) any tips on saving her would be amazing!

oh my! I’m not certain which kind but it definitely looks like a pest of some sort. (Looks a little too much like bite marks!) If not, maybe sunburn. Either way I’d bring it inside again. Maybe away from any other plants you have. Just to wait and see if there’s a pest on the plant or just outside!

Also I’d spray it off or wipe it beforehand! Just to get anything off the leaves 💚

Make me even more convinced it’s a pest. Looks like something was truly hungry! I hope it bounces back. Spider plants are usually pretty resilient :)

Looks like beetle damage. Japanese beetles would leave those holes and chewed edges. Leaf hoppers cause a lot of similar damage, but, less of the big holes. Caterpillars will leave bite marks on the edges assuming more than one type of insect got to the plant. I would trim the leaves back to about two or three inches from the soil to get rid of the damage. Use a spray of water to knock off anything that might remain on the leaves including eggs. The plant will recover well if the root system is good. Check the roots and soil. I would replace the soil just in case there are larvae in it. Then, use neem oil all over it once a week. I would leave it outside where it can recover faster. My many plants grow faster outside in warmer temperatures. Fertilize regularly. Add SuperThrive Plant Vitamins to boost the growth. 🪴🍀

Japanese beetles move like locusts on leaves.

I would not cut off the babies. Just treat well with neem oil.

I agree, japanese beetle is the most likely culprit
