This otherwise healthy peacock plant now has small brown spots on top of the leaves and sticky wet spot underneath. Any ideas on what is going on? I only use distilled water and diluted fertilizer according to Planta schedule.

Sticky residue can be a sign of thrips. I didn’t get the brown spots last year, but the sticky was on multiple leaves. The only thing that worked was a combination of systemic granules and Bonide Super Soap

So, sticky residue can be a sign of pests, but it can also be released to lure in beneficial insects. I would check it over really well for signs of pests. If you can find anything, I wouldn’t worry about it as long as the plant seems to be doing well. The brown carved out spots are very suspicious though.
1 me gustaI’ve had the plant for about two years and have never had this issue before. I washed the plant and removed all the old soil and repotted. I’ll keep an eye on it though.
