Hi new plant parent here. I just bought this pilea from facebook marketplace. Today in some dappled sun I noticed there is webbing across the soil and little spiders. (see spider on very bottom left leaf in picture) Is this something to worry about (spider mites) or harmless? I dont seed any white spots on leaves or webbing around leafs. Should I still quarantine this guy from other plants? And how to treat?

I personally repot all of my plants with fresh, clean soil and quarantine for a week or 2 when I first bring them home. I’m a control freak though lol. Never know what creepy crawlies you’re bringing home! 🕷️

Thank you both- upon repotting I noticed multiple moving, living things in that soil... so I'm glad I took care of that 😅 Tried to hose away as much of the old soil from roots as possible. Will keep ya updated!

I don’t quarantine (living on the edge) but I agree with Lindsey and do repot when I bring a new plant home. this is just a regular spider, not mites, nothing to worry about. in fact it’s probably helped to keep pests out of this plant. But this soil definitely looks to need a refresh — your plant will appreciate a repot and that spider will have to find a new home
