Giving an update. I rescued a Janet Craig back in May. The center was black and crusty. Thought for sure it would die. I posted and asked for help. Thanks to the advice (trim out the black and get it on filtered water), along with other basic care, I'm happy to show the 2 month progress. The center is showing healthy green growth and doing great. This just reaffirms my belief that with patience and the right TLC, everything has the potential to heal and get better.

    I have this tree/plant too and it had a rough move and rough couple days in my care. I’m hopeful it’s more on the mend after some TLC!

    You can do it!!! I picked up a 2nd one and then a varigated one, all 3 were Lowe's discount/rescues and recovered nicely. So far, they're low maintenance, except the non-tap water and occasionally wipe dust off the leaves.
