Why has the leaves gone curly? I’ve followed the watering schedule and havnt changed anything It’s saying lack of light but I’m unsure Can someone advise? I got gifted it a few months ago and have not repotted it yet

it could be a few things. They can curl due to too much direct light, too cold or too hot in the room, not enough humidity, over fertilizing, not enough drainage in the pot. They can also curl from too much/too little water, I’ve read that curling inward is underwatering and outward is overwatering (not sure how correct this is though)
1 me gustaIts 300cm from window so maybe its not close enough? The temperature in this room does vary so it could be that! I have a little indoor greenhouse so maybe it would enjoy that as it’s warmer? I have been misting it regularly as instructed but maybe it wants more, I watered it the other day as it was due and the soil still feels really damp.. on closer inspection I noticed there might be some small bugs at the base of the plant so maybe this is stressing it out? This plant is in a pot in this pot If that makes sense and it’s got draining holes so it’s probably not that… that’s interesting about the inward/outward thing 👍🏻
0 Me gustaI think it depends on the light coming through the window. If it’s getting all day of indirect light that’s ideal. I’d definitely treat for the bugs, if they are actually in the soil they may be beneficial bugs though. Humidifiers are always going to be your best bet as misting only raises the humidity for a short time. As long as the temp stays between like 60-75 degrees you should be okay. Are you watering near the cups of the plant? They like to collect water like that.
0 Me gustaMy house is damp as it’s old so I have to have dehumidifiers otherwise everything goes mouldy so how can I increase humidity without using damp issues? Maybe it needs more light and be moved perhaps 🤔 I didn’t realise that bugs in the soil can be beneficial! I have those sticky pad things to prevent most of them!
0 Me gustaYou could try a pebble tray under the plant! It might be worth a try moving it but note it may need to acclimate to the new spot before really perking up, if you think it’s doing worse in the new spot after a week or two I’d move it back There can be beneficial bugs, they will eat any detritus in the soil. It really kind of depends on what the look like though 😅
0 Me gustaI dunno, I think it looks cute curly 😂
1 me gustaIt’s like curly hair.. except green!! 😆
