Hey there! Anybody know what’s going on with my spider plant? It seems to have some pretty bad burn scars and scratch like areas in the leaves, at first I thought it was it was getting to much sun so I moved to a spot that gave more indirect light. It is still burning unfortunately, does anyone know what might be the cause?

It is a gorgeous plant! Those don’t look like burn marks to me. Brown tips on spider plants could be due to a lack of humidity.

Maybe I should move him to my washroom? I do have a mister also so I could use that. Thanks for the info!

it doesn’t look burnt or dry to me. are the tips smushy at all? the browning/black coloration with yellow edges indicate overwatering. the soil should dry completely between waterings to prevent overwatering your spider plant.

The tips are not squishy no, normally I will make sure that the soil is dry as well! Thank you all for your suggestions!

The other thing you can try to look into is fertilizer. Are you using it and if you are, you might be using too much of it. That can cause burn marks on the leaves.

One thing I’d consider might be the water too. If you have a filter for your water or distilled water i’d recommend trying that to see if it helps.
