Tiny white spots on Alocasia leaves. Is this looking like a pest? Or something else? Thank you! Edit: The backs of the leaves are AFTER wiping down/treating so I probably got rid of anything useful. *sigh* But I did spray all my plants and wiped down all leaves with a mixture of water, alcohol, plant pest spray just to be safe. I’m not treating soil, unless I should?

Back of leaf would be helpful, normally if pests always on back, I see you got it listed in dry humidity, they need very high humidity and distilled water. Is that a mealy bug on top of leaf ⭕️

I didn’t see any movement, I just wiped down the leaves of all my plants with a mix of water, Rubbing Alcohol and a spray that kills spider mites/mealy bugs/etc. I didn’t take a pic of the back of the leaf before I wiped it down but I’ll include a pic after it’s been wiped. She is in a low humidity climate. My average temperature is 68-71 F and humidity is 50% low but it’s been in a big group of plants with a water tray and active humidifier, bringing the humidity up to 67% high. I have not used distilled water, but it’s receiving tap water that’s sat for over 24hours before use. It did get a bit of 20-20-20 dissolved food. I watered yesterday I believe.

Also that spot is not a mealy bug, it’s still there after wiping, just a divet in leaf. Also updating post to add the backs!

Posted backs of leaf… unfortunately I treated/wiped them before I took the pictures. I’ve never dealt with plant pests and the leaf spotting is new to this Alocasia (only one I own). I just wanted to be safe so I treated all plants today, hoping I’m overreacting… I haven’t seen any crawling bugs when inspecting leaves.

Humidity should be fine if you got a humidifier and water tray near by, you did the right thing wiping them down, not sure but on the back behind top of stem mealy bugs lay there eggs, and looks like maybe you’ve wash away them, but seems like there’s a nest mark, they also attack end of plant leaves making them go yellow/ brownish which you have on one leaf, just keep an eye on back of leaves for the next few days

It could possibly be spider mites, I can’t tell from the photos but in my collection they seem to target only my alocasia plants so every time I water I just give them a spray with alcohol and pest spray. Here’s some pics I just found on google as an example, they leave some damage on the leaves and tiny webs

Thank you! I think they’re some type of mite. I treated everything with a spray but honestly that was probably overkill nobody else seems to have them except for her. She’s sitting alone in a window and I plan on retreating again on Thursday, 3 days after I initially treated, and then she may return to the bunch. I want to put her in my greenhouse cabinet but I don’t want her infesting it. 😂

I have my two alocasias next to each other near some other plants and it’s only ever them two that get them 😂 not sure how a cabinet would go though
