guys i need help ID-ing this pest 🫠 These are 3 diff of the (same?) bug on my plant, potentially at different life stages. You can see the white speck on my Alocasia, it was too small for a good photo but it was definitely moving around. I couldn’t even see more of it with my naked eye. I have no other symptoms to go off of unfortunately. I drenched it in insecticide and neem oil and added more systemic granules, don’t worryšŸ˜‹

It looks like it could be a fruit/vinegar fly? If it’s not a fruiting plant, that could be why you have no other symptoms.

It’s an Alocasia, known for attracting the fungus gnats, thrips, and spider mites. Some of the bugs are more white/clear so idk about the gnats unless the ones I caught were young. They were flying except the one I found on the plant but I couldn’t see that one any clearer than in the photo. I’m so scared it’s thrips ā˜¹ļø that’s why I posted because I’m not sure. They don’t seem very elongated to me but I did kinda smush them 🤭

Sorry for the double response. I have been getting contradicting responses from Google Gemini and ChatGPT too about those 3 pests so I’m trying to get a response from a real person who’s better at ID-ing them than myself.

Yeah, I never really trust those apps to give me good information. Not since the information it gave me killed a squash plant I’d been growing for months
