Is this something eating my marigolds or some sort of fungus? I’ve researched what could be doing this and it says it might be slugs. Has anyone had this issue?

It's a good possibility. It could be slugs. Put a dish with beer in it next to it and see if you have any in it the next morning.

Thank you for the response, I found out it was earwigs. Do you have any suggestions for that?

It’s hard to know if it’s aphids, beetles or caterpillars but looks like a bug treatment is necessary I have so many pincher bugs in my yard I gave up after finding them for three years. Now we have chickens instead, just got to go with what you got 😅

Thank you for responding, I think it was those pincher bugs or earwigs or whatever you call them. Do you have any suggestions other than the chickens?

This was an interesting solution. If you try it and it works, let me know 😊 To trap earwigs, you can fill cat food cans (or other similar cans) with ¼ inch of oil (preferably fish oil) and sink them into the ground near plants. Empty them every day.
