I got this fern about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't doing good so I out it in the bathroom and have been spurting the leafs with water and it doesn't look any better. What do I do? Any other things I should try?(also should I take the dead leafs off???)

It doesn't look bad. Yes remove any browning, it will not come back. Ideally you could use a hygrometer to see what the humidity is. One of my ferns that's temperamental is in the green house at 85% approx humidity. The others are just in the house, which is around 56%. And they get misted twice day.

Oh one is also in bag time out, cuz he's refusing to re-acclimate to room humidity after I went away on vacation 😅

Hahaha I love that way of thinking, it’s not the plants punishing you, you’re punishing the plants for not listening lol

It's so annoying. It was doing great before I left. And I was leaving for 5 days, so I popped it in the bag to keep high humidity. And now this butt hole wants to start browning any time I've tried to remove the bag 🙄🙄

Ooh a maidenhair! I have one currently and my best advice would be that these guys actually prefer to be constantly wet so I'd just put the pot in a bowl of water or set up a self watering system.

Hey there. Give it some time. You probably ticked it off by moving it to a new environment. Just give it care (and some good light) and it will bounce back. I ticked off a sword fern by repotting it too roughly and it took about 6 months to come back. Looked terrible for a while, but came back bigger and healthier than ever. Don’t try to troubleshoot and keep changing its environment. Let it get acclimated.

The brown is most of the plants? It looks pretty green to me. I would just snip of the ends that are brown not the whole stalk. Or if you're worried you can wait until it starts to grow again. To give you an idea, here's a trim down I did on my Frosty Fern...aka Princess of the bag 🙄

If you put the plant with browned tips into high humidity they can often get mushy, and cause some rotting on the good portions. That's why I remove them, besides, they aren't doing anything for the plant.

I will have to disagree with the comment about letting it sit in a bowl of water. While it does like evenly moist soil it definitely does not like to be constantly waterlogged. Sitting in a bowl of water will stimulate root rot. Water when the soil is dry to 1/2 to 1 in and keep it out of direct sunlight. In my experience maidenhair ferns our little fussy. humidity around 60% is recommended. Low humidity is a common problem with maidenhair.
