Calathea orbifolia concerns Hi I’ve had my calathea for about 2months now. She’s thriving but I’ve noticed that all of a sudden her leaves started to get these brown spots. I’ve attached the pictures. She’s next to a humidifier, gets plenty of sun. I checked her soil, it’s pretty much moist. Is this something that could be fungal? It is getting a little cold, so not sure if that correlates as well. Anything helps! She’s my first plant so I want the best for her.

There are several possibilities. You said the soil is moist. Could you be keeping it too wet? They need to dry out some. The humidifier. Is it one of the little personal ones or a room size unit? You need a larger one and a humidistat to measure the percentage. Water. They can be picky about minerals and maybe some chemicals in tap water. Switch to distilled or RO water.

The soil will normally dry out as the plant takes up the moisture. At least the top half of the soil is dry when I water. You need a humidistat. Amazon has them.
