My Ivory Tower plant is getting wrinkly on the bottom. I repotted and the soil was not wet, so no root rot. I watered yesterday. He is in part sun part shade. I’m thinking need more light? Any ideas?

How often are you watering because the plant is extremely dehydrated. If you place in brighter light, it will use up even more water. Looks like regular tropical houseplant soil. You need succulent/cactus soil.

Watering when dry, using moisture meter. Reads “moist” (8 out of 10 on my meter). Soil reads suitable for succulents on the bag, but I can try a specific succulent mix. I moved it back to a shadier but still sun spot. Planta app states that it is over watered, not sure why.

If you have the very common green meter, this plant should not be watered until the meter is down to 1 or 2. At 8, the soil is still too wet for any plant to be watered. Even tropicals. So if the plant is overwatered, but is dehydrated, then you have root rot. Because there are no healthy roots to take up the moisture.

Try touching the soil with your finger. I bet it is wet. For succulents the entire pot of soil should be bone dry before you water. It should feel like desert sand. I think you are just misreading the meter. And I can see why. Your thinking if the gauge has gone down it needs water.

Don’t go by planta it will definitely water your plants down always a meter and finger test. Thats my opinion.. let the sun dry the soil up and maybe plant 🌱 food.. it looks good thou.
