I need help asap I soaked it in a small cup of water overnight and the remaining leaves died and the whole plant smells like it’s rotting and the base is dying slowly how much do I cut off

    I’m sorry but I don’t know if that is salvageable. It looks like root rot especially if it smells rotten.

      I rinsed it and it smells normal now

    The leaf snapped and the core looks like this is this normal and is this plant savable😭 I’m very attached to this plant and it’s been barely hanging on for months and I’ve been doing everything I can to keep it alive and I desperately need help 😭

      What plant is this? Were you propagating it? Did you use a rooting additive? Placing it in a small cup of water is a popular method to get plants to root, but sometimes plants are just too far gone to save. This looks like that case.

      It used to be a spider plant and was actually my very first plant and I left it alone for 5 days and it somehow died. It was 10 years old and survived years of neglect 😭
