Why are the leaves on my Xanthosoma turning brown and crunchy? It did fine the first month or two I had it. I haven’t changed anything. It’s in well-draining soil. I water it once it’s almost completely dry, but still some moisture. It’s a few feet from a window and receives bright indirect sun for about 6-8 hours a day. Liquid fertilizer once a month. Why does she hate her life lol?

It looks overwatered just from the yellow at the decaying lines and the blotchy dead parts. Is that a water meter being used to measure the water content? I recommend using a chopstick or wooden meat skewer as a backup method to verify the soil is almost dry before watering.

Also, add a grow light. Winter sunlight is less intense. Maybe, the plant could benefit from a 12 hour grow light.

Also if you’re not using filtered water or R.O water browning of the leaves is caused by the city tapwater, the chlorine and the fluoride in the water try switching to filtered or R.O water
