Hi all! I recently picked up this beauty off Facebook marketplace. It says tropical foliage on the tag - I think it’s a bird of paradise. It has browning leaves but also a new leaf is still coming into fruition so there’s a lot of hope! I am still fairly new to planting and this task seems daunting so I want to make sure I do everything right. Any recs for getting her back to health? I am going to add a lot more soil to the pot & she is in a sunny sunny room but otherwise im not sure of the next steps!!!

    they are high humidity plants. i see them absolutely thrive in my FL neighborhoods, especially during summer. they're also very bright light, so if you don't have a west or south window, i recommend getting her a grow light. when you fix the soil check the roots, give the plant a lookover for pests or fungus, just in case, but this seems to be more of a humidity problem based on leaf splitting and crispy tips. they like very chunky soil, the mix in there is good, so find something similar.

    I love your plant, BOP so I purchased 2. My Twins had a little bit of brown leaves but I just let the be. It's so exciting to see the new stem growing and then open😍
