Can anyone help ID the problem for my Philodendron Split leaf? There’s this light yellow mold on the soil? No clue what it might be or if it’s harmful, some of the leaves turned yellow but I thought that was from me over watering it. Hoping to know what’s going on and if I gotta treat it!

It’s mold/fungal growth. The spores travel in the air or in the potting mix. Continuously moist soil supports the growth. It’s typically not harmful. A commercial fungicide can clear it. The yellowing can be overwatering/ root rot, excess fertilizer, or possibly hard water sensitivity.

Got it, thanks for clarity here! I’ll look into remedying those points

Yellowing on the edges of the leaf or sometimes a sign of a potassium deficiency. A possible organic solution to this is to chop up a ripe banana peel. Something that's got a lot of black in it, and poor about 300 to 500 ml of boiling water over the chopped banana peel. Let it soak for about an hour, strain it, let it cool before watering and or misting your plant with it. I know it sounds weird.
