Does anyone struggle with indoor lavender? As soon as I bring home a new pot the leaves and branches dry no matter what I seem to try and do. I’ve treated it as well as my other plants as far as I know since I’m new to this, and my lavender always looks so sad :( please let me know if this is just a lost cause.

Is it winter there? They should change color and enter into dormancy. They usually get cut back. And then come back in the spring. They like bright light, and to not be wet, so water well then wait till the dirt dries out before watering again.

Hi! Yes it is winter ! I didn’t think that would matter since I bought it from the store and kept it indoors… but that does make lots of sense, thank you! I will keep watering like you said, as well!

I'm definitely not expert on lavender. But I have a few "normally" outdoor plants, and often they have this reaction. I assume mostly because I don't keep my place at like 75°

Lavenders can be a little temperamental. Even outdoors they are not a long lived perennial. They do not like high humidity and they do not like cool damp soil. Dwarf varieties do better indoors opposed to standard varieties. They also need lots of light, even direct sun. Just taking a guess, it looks like you may have root rod going on. This would account for the leaves drying out. Personally, I would harvest the leaves and make rosemary chicken or rosemary potatoes and then throw the plant out and wait till the spring to get another one. Sad but true!

If your pot does not have drain holes, that is definitely a problem.

Just when you think you know what you're doing, the plant makes a liar out of you. There are so many variables from home to home from habitat to habitat it can be difficult to know what to do yourself or how do I advise someone else.
