Any suggestions on how to effectively and safely sterilize plant pots (plastic, terracotta, glass, ceramic, etc) after a pest or rot problem? For example, I lost a fairy castle cactus to scale but want to reuse the terracotta pot.

I wash them with Castile soap and water and then spray them with alcohol that I have in a mister. Not sure if this is correct, but seems to be working.🙂
3件のいいねI’ll try it! Thank you
0件のいいねI do the same! I also let all my terracotta pots air dry before putting them away in a dark cupboard, so as to not encourage mold growth

0件のいいねI've used deluded bleach on plastic and glazed pots. I've also done it on terracotta but I've rinsed it thoroughly. Although bleach is not good for the plant it dissipates after a Time. That's why you have to keep adding chlorine to a swimming pool because it evaporates. It's a very effective sanitizer but you don't want to sanitize a porous pot and plant in it immediately.
