Any suggestions on how to effectively and safely sterilize plant pots (plastic, terracotta, glass, ceramic, etc) after a pest or rot problem? For example, I lost a fairy castle cactus to scale but want to reuse the terracotta pot.

I wash them with Castile soap and water and then spray them with alcohol that I have in a mister. Not sure if this is correct, but seems to be working.🙂
3 Me gustaI’ll try it! Thank you
0 Me gustaI do the same! I also let all my terracotta pots air dry before putting them away in a dark cupboard, so as to not encourage mold growth
3 Me gustaOh yes! Thank you
0 Me gustaI've used deluded bleach on plastic and glazed pots. I've also done it on terracotta but I've rinsed it thoroughly. Although bleach is not good for the plant it dissipates after a Time. That's why you have to keep adding chlorine to a swimming pool because it evaporates. It's a very effective sanitizer but you don't want to sanitize a porous pot and plant in it immediately.
1 me gustaNoted, thank you so much!
