does anyone have tips on how to help my golden pothos? i’ve had it for a couple of months and haven’t seen a whole lot of significant growth, but i keep it in a hanging pot in the corner where it gets access to light but not full time. i water it every 9-10 days, but some of the leaves are folded even though i water it. i have not repotted and initially got it from home depot (before finding a way better local plant shop). there are small little bugs in the soil (there’s a photo of one of the ones i caught) and i don’t know if they’re responsible for the problems in the photos? i have tried apple cider vinegar but it didn’t do anything, and a hydrogen peroxide/water solution seems to help but i don’t know if there’s something better? also the growth of the leaves can be kind of wonky, some grow more side ways don’t fall out of the pot but that could just be how they are lol.

I might be wrong but that bug looks like a fungus gnat and they pop up with soil that remains soggy. Is there good drainage on that pot? Maybe the pot is too large for the amount of plant / root in it? You might be on a good watering schedule but if there’s too much soil ‘cause of a large pot size, the roots don’t have time to suck all the water up by the next time you water. You could always get a moisture meter or stick your fingers in there and squeeze the soil before you water and make sure at least an inch down is bone dry before watering again. For the gnats, making sure that soil dries between watering and also getting some yellow sticky fly traps will help their numbers dwindle enormously. Best of luck!

the drainage probably could be better, and i think downsizing definitely might help because i don’t think all the roots get access to water because of how much soil there is. thank you so much!!!

I hope any of the advice helps! Also since winter is when most plants go dormant, wait until spring to repot and just water with a little less than you usually would and that will also give you time to test and see if watering is the issue. Good luck little pothos!
