Any advice on what is happening here? I have multiple plants that seemed do be doing wonderful and then over the past few months have started drying out at the stems and eventually dying off. This is a piece of my golden pothos but it’s happened to my philodendron, Hoya, several others. I have lost so many plants lately and no idea why, I’ve not changed anything with my routines

You can save it by propagating

That looks like rot to me. That happens to my plants when the soil doesn’t drain enough.

I’ve been bottom watering to help prevent gnats. Should I let them dry out more in between or add even more drainage to the mixture?

I would add more drainage. If you are already bottom feeding, that should help.
