Hi! I have a hydroponic system set up with some herbs and arugula. There are little white bugs underneath the leaves and all along the stems of all of my plants. What are these and how can I fix it?

That’s a baddd spider mite infestation ☹️
1 LikeHello! Those look like aphids, which are a little easier to see than spider mites with the naked eye. I will include a screenshot from The Old Farmer’s Almanac article about aphid control. The good news is they can be treated much like spider mites with a little water blast and topical treatment with agents like neem oil. You’ve got this!
2 LikesYes, definitely aphids. I just give mine a good water blast.
3 LikesInteresting! I blasted them all with water last week and sprayed with Neem oil. They all came back 😩. I wonder if another plant that’s in soil is harboring the aphids?
1 LikeSearch “aphid control, old farmer’s almanac” for an article with some good ideas on how to manage this. They are very tenacious! Check out the link above for details on how to manage them. Infestations like this typically require repeat treatments to beat back survivors and their offspring. I’ve been on a two-month water and neem treatment with my alocasia collection, and I’m finally getting the upper hand with the spider mites that were feasting on their chlorophyll!
