How do you water this? How often & how much?

You should water when the top two inches of the soil are dry — and you should water very thoroughly so that all the soil comes in contact with water and until water runs out of the bottom of the pot. If you don’t have drainage, I would get this into a new pot that does and give your roots a good look. It looks like this has received a little water. Watering often but sparingly leads to weak roots, and ultimately rot. I don’t want to overload on info here so lmk if you have more questions!

Yes this pot has drainage holes, I water it once or twice a week, and I water it from the top

I’d bottom water the plant if you can, and there’s a lot of different ways to get rid of gnats, so I say take your pick from what you find online or what others suggest in terms of gnat treatment and prevention. Hope this helps!

bottom watering is good for some plants — african violets, some succs, and things with fuzzy leaves — but it’s important to flush the soil with regular watering too to make sure hard minerals and such aren’t building up in your soil
