Hi Plant People! My first post. This is my beloved Fi Fi. I have had her 2-3 years, she's done wonderfully, never an issue (slow growth of a leaf or two a year.) She's been turning white at the base of some leaves, and have had several fall off within the week!! Many are drooping and turning yellow also. This is very distressing and will take any/all wisdom/advice/tips to help save my dear Fi Fi. ❤️🙏 UPDATE: Its a fungus infection. And tips?!

Is it near a vent? Did you recently move it to a different spot? Looks like it’s in distress

The white spots can be hard water (tap) lack of nutrients. Has it been fertilized or mealybugs

Thanks for the response and helping me work through the process of elimination. After some more research, I believe this is a fungus issue. She has not been moved in over a year, even survived a house move. She's not near any vents. She's been in the same spot, she doesn't have lots of growth but nothing has changed, with the exception of my friend house sitting did water her outside of her schedule 6 months ago.. aside from that, that's the only change in her environment!

Anyone have experience with a fungus problem?

More light, with an hour or two of late day sunlight 4-6ish and let it dry out a few days. Pull out of the pot and check the roots for binding or rot. Repot in Terracotta pot to breath. Grab FF root supplement and FF rescue drops. I believe FF need more direct light than what many will suggest. I keep mine in outdoor filtered but bright light with about 2-3 hours of direct light late afternoon. I water mine about every 7-10 days depending on need.
