Grandma took care of my plants while I was away and I noticed this on it, what should I do? Should I just toss the plant out? What about my other plants?

Looks like mealy bugs ? I’m sure there is treatment if you want to keep the plant
1 Likeoooof definitely mealys. i would throw it away if you’re not attached — otherwise it will be at least a few treatments and isolation for a few weeks, but if you’re up for that challenge you can do it!!
3 LikesYeah, I threw it out. Didn’t want to bother with it Should I check my other plants? My grandma returned them in boxes so I’m afraid that others might have something too :/
1 Likedefinitely check the others veryyy carefully
3 Likesyou can spot treat with qtips and rubbing alcohol/dish soap/water mix — spray with neem oil
1 LikeI’ve been using insecticidal soap on a big jade plant if that’s something you’re comfortable with, and it’s been working really well
0 LikesDoes it prevent them?
0 LikesThat’s a good question. I didn’t find very clear info doing a quick google search. I’ve tried a lot of different options in the past though and recently tried the insecticidal soap last week and my small infestation was almost gone after the first application. I found a decent amount of dead ones too when I went to apply again this week.

0 LikesI would submerge it in Dawn dishwater for 15 minutes to kill off everything including anything in the soil. Then, rinse plant and soil in clean water. Isolate the plant. I would repeat a week later.
