Is this an elephant ear? If so, it looks like what happens when they absorb too much water and temperatures aren’t high enough. I would suggest watering it when the soil is mostly dry - mine is relatively drought tolerant. Also, using a well draining, peat free soil, and ensuring it gets plenty of bright but indirect light. I put my elephant ear under a grow lamp every 2 days, have it in a terracotta pot and with very well draining soil, and it still weeps water! Bottom watering seems to have helped.

That is definitely overwatering. From what I've learned of alocasia, they hate being wet for long at all. They grow from corms so they rot easily. I would report it into a chunky mix of 2 parts orchid bark, 1-2 parts long fibered sphagnum, 1 part pumice, 1/2-1 part coco coir. Water it just before it starts to sag (asking for water), or when the media is almost completely dry.

The translucent spot you’re seeing on the leaf could indicate **overwatering** or **leaf edema**, where the plant cells take in more water than they can handle, causing the cells to burst. It can also be caused by **cold drafts** or even **pests**. Here’s what you can do: 1. **Check watering habits**: Make sure the soil is well-draining and not staying soggy for too long. Allow the top inch or two to dry out before watering again. 2. **Avoid direct drafts**: If the plant is near a cold or hot draft (like from air conditioning or heating), move it to a more stable environment. 3. **Inspect for pests**: You have neem oil in the picture, which is great for treating pests, so ensure the plant is pest-free. If you do spot pests, continue to treat the plant with neem oil. 4. **Prune**: If the leaf continues to decline or the damage worsens, you can prune it off to encourage the plant to direct energy to healthier leaves. Keep an eye on your plant, adjust watering, and ensure it’s not exposed to extreme conditions, and it should recover!
