I’m not sure what my new issue is with my pony palm. I have replanted him into a smaller pot and mist between watering. He continues to get brown tips and. Now this 🤦🏼‍♀️

That’s not a pony tail palm. Looks like Yucca to me. I could be wrong though.

I think it is a ponytail palm that’s buried too deeply that the round base of the plant is hidden.

Ponytail palm leaves are a lot skinnier.

Yucca leaves are more broad. This is my Yucca.

I looked at her photos of the plant. It really looks like a ponytail palm based on the trunk. The yucca has banding marks where the leaves fell off. Ponytail palms don’t have these markings. Your picture and a photo of my palm is shown.

Does the bark feel solid and firm? Or is it weak and able to pull off easily?

      It’s solid and firm

Then it's likely not rot, which is good

You are misting and watering with no root rot. Then, it’s likely a lighting issue. My very old ponytail plant gets about 12 hours of full sunlight. It lives outside. You can try a grow light within a foot of the plant for 14 hours a day. Let the soil dry out completely since the plant stores water in that round base and thick trunk.

I live in Indiana so it’s hard to have it outside all year long. I will open my sheer curtain for full sun and try that. It seems like when it had direct sun before the leaves got brown quickly/

I would recommend NOT misting. It appears to be a watering and lighting issue. Pony tail palms store a lot of water in their trunks, most only require a once a month watering. I water mine every 6-8 weeks. 😊🪴

Mine is huge. It lives outside. I water once week or more often. He’s a big drinker.

Very beautiful!! I should have noted it really depends on your location/hardiness zone. Mine is kept indoors (zone 6b) under grow light 12 hours a day.

I have a question about my plant as well. I've had it for about 7 years but it lost all the leaves on the branch behind. I thought it was a corn plant. I think I've over watered too much. I repotted the plant last month and the branch had dry rotted but still firm and plenty of roots. I replanted it after cutting off the rotted part. It sits on my fireplace with a plant light pointed in its direction.

That doesn’t look like a pony palm at all

Yes I know. I'm having some issues with the leaf browning and leaves dropping. Any suggestions?
