My beautiful elephant ear has some spots.. it had one spot on one… | Pests, diseases and problems šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø | Planta-Community

My beautiful elephant ear has some spots.. it had one spot on one leaf when I got it a few months ago. Now it has spots on 2 other leaves. She is growing a new leaf. Planta says it’s overwatered but I haven’t changed how I’ve watered it since I got it. I just watered it yesterday (just misted it today) and only water it when it’s 2/3 dry. She’s kept in a North facing window with indirect light… it is winter here in MI. Help pls!

My Alocasia has similar spots and I haven’t quite figured it out! I think it may be a humidity issue for mine (winter and the heat makes things a lot more dry) or potentially the soil not being chunky enough. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Alocasia don’t like water on the leaves, it can lead to fungal issues which seems to be the issue. I recommend increasing humidity with a humidifier rather than misting.
