Are these spots a sign of fungus on my Philo hope and Ficus ginseng? (FYI that spiral looking ring around the branch is my attempt at bonsai wiring, not a pest)

Actually I think this might be under- fertilization? Still curious what you all think...
0 J'aimeI am learning something new here. Keep in mind that I found this information as it applies to a rubber plant which is also a ficus so I thought maybe it would apply to The ficus ginseng. You'll have to make that call yourself. That being said some spots on a rubber leaf that looked just like these spots were called cystoliths. They are not harmful to the plant but there is some uncertainty as to what their function is. They are found in other cells called lithocysts. Another possibility is the little spots are the plant pushing out salts. Apparently this is common especially if you use tap water. The salts are pushed out through glands in the leaf tissue. The pictures of the cystoliths on the rubber plant looked exactly like your picture of your ginseng ficus.
2 J'aimeThank you! I'll do some side research but I think you're spot on :)
