Anyone know what these little white things are. I feel like they are too small to be mealy bugs, but i’ve never encountered them before so i’m unsure. Also if anyone knows what to do to get rid of them? Thanks !!!!

Looks like it's, give it an aggressive shower. Do you have any miticide?

Thank you! I don’t have any, is there a brand you would recommend?

For spider mites, bonides Dead bug, growsafe, Arber. I was using an at home mix in a 32oz spray bottle, 2c water, 2 tbl Peppermint castille soap, 2 tbl neem oil, 1 tsp alcohol. Then shake and fill the rest of the way with more water. (I've been moving away from this as I found it wasnt effective on mealybugs, and apparently a lot of the imports have them 😳. But this does work for spider mites and thrips. Because it contains neem oil, you will want to either spray them down in the evening, turn off the growlight you have on them, or rinse after they sit for 30-60 mins. The oil can cause scorching if they get too much light. And treat every 3 days for a few weeks. The life cycle of a spider mite is about 50 days or so. You can also use a systemic like bonide systemic granules (these are not pet/baby safe, though SNS makes a safe one) these would take a few days to fully get sucked up by the plant to work, but just showering the plant every 3 days will get the adults off until then.

I found spider mites today for the first time in owning house plants! 🥴 I have no idea where they came from since they’re isolated (so far) to one plant in a small greenhouse I have. Should I treat all the plants in there or just the one as long as no others show any bugs?

I would treat everything, at least anything it was near. They transfer so easily from even just you removing a leaf and going to toss it.

Everything is getting a ‘bath’ and so far still not seeing any signs of any on the other Alocasias in there🤞🏻 I’m hoping I caught this pretty quickly since there were so few

Spider mites by the looks of it. Insecticidal soap would also work. I’m in Canada; there’s a product called safers that works well. They look like they’ve done a number on the leaves in your photo. I would also give the plant a bath before the insecticidal treatment. Keep this guy away from any other healthy plants. If it was in a grouping I would check your other nearby plants. Spider mites love dry winter weather
