Anyone have any care tips for dracaena Florida beauty? Mine keeps having leaves that turn brown and I don't know why. I let it just barely dry out before I water and its under a grow light.

    Check the roots for rot; if there is no rot it may be a fertilizing issue; does the planter have drainage

      I've only fertilized it twice since I got it near the end of September. The planter does gave drainage but I am going to check for rot as its been taking a while to dry out. And since I don't have planta premium, I can't use the diagnostic.

      I'm thinking over watering. Could also be low light, depending on how much they need. Its under a grow light but not a top quality one. Am I right that if I use filtered water lime shouldn't be a problem? I've never had problems with it with any of my other plants.

    I checked with Planta for you, and your Florida beauty is a tropical plant, meaning it has a medium water demand. It says the top layer of the soil should be dry before you water, so you don’t want to let it dry out completely. I’m guessing that if you have crispy edges to your leaves, that are turning brown, your Florida beauty may not be getting enough hydration. Also, tropical plants like humidity; do you know what the moisture % is where your plant is located? If humidity levels are low, you can use a humidifier, and/or a humidity tray. It’s helpful if you can keep the humidity levels around 50% or so. Good luck with your beautiful plant!

    Ok thanks for the help! I'm gonna check the roots today and repot, cuz when I got it I don't think I changed the soil. The humidity levels are usually in the low forties, I have a humidifier going. I really think its pry overwatering rather than under cuz the soil has been staying wet so long, but I won't rule out that possibility.
