Any advice for gnat infestation? I have repotted my plants twice now. Tried using hydrogen peroxide water, tried putting sand on top of soil, tried dish soap with sugar and water… I have yellow sticky traps to catch them… my plants are dying and I really want to know how I can save them :( thank you!

Options left are mosquito bits, microbe-lift, or systemic granules.

Pour neem max mixed with water into your soil. Its worked overnight for me. ☺️

are your plants in plain potting soil? or has it been amended with additional drainage material, like pumice and perlite? most of the time when people have fungus gnat infestations it’s the soil they’re using. many commercial mixes are composed of too much organic matter for indoor growing. miracle gro is well known for being full of pest eggs and larvae, typically because the bags are stored outdoors. you may also be overwatering your plants. fungus gnats breed and thrive on moist soil since they eat the fungus that also breeds and thrives in moist conditions. i was able to eradicate fungus gnats almost entirely within a few months by repotting all my plants into a coarse, chunky, and well-aerated mix, and leaning heavily towards underwatering. your plants can handle quite a bit of drought as long as you soak them thoroughly when it’s time to water.

Other option no one has mentioned: beneficial predators. Beneficial nematodes are easy and can get rid of gnats in one application. Go to the DMV Beneficials website for more info and there might be a chapter near you. As an aside, unless your gnat infestation is EXTREMELY bad and all your plants are seedlings or delicate anyway, it’s really unlikely fungus gnats are causing your plants to do poorly. It could be the stress from repotting idk, but I’d look into other issues and make sure there aren’t other pests around.

Tbh. This is a bad advice probably. But I let all the plants dried out. Space themed all far from each other. And just let them suffer in their own little corners begging for water. And then the gnats went away. And I have been watering them like normal. And so far so good. Maybe they are lying dormant ready to strike but I've got a working solution now, at least lol. So long as you don't mind a few dying leaves. Alls fair in love and war. If those gnats are so hungry .. starve them 😈

Commercial soil is the problem I’ve noticed on my side. I always let it dry out and mix in some mosquito bits so it kills the larvae and put Ceylon cinnamon on top to dry out the adults coming out. It takes awhile but it’s helped. Also zevo bug traps help.
