I just got this fiddle leaf fig over the weekend and there were no spots. I had to drive two hours home, and the plant was left in the car for a couple hours after I got back because of work. The next day, I saw that a few leaves are turning brown. Do these spots look like they are because of the heat of the car? And will they come back, or should I cut the brown-ish leaves off to save energy?

yes it is likely sunburn. i’d leave the leaves unless it bothers you. regardless, let it get acclimated before you start pruning imo.

Definitely sunburn. Not going to hurt the plant at all purely cosmetic. Just know that FLF grow up so whatever you cut off will not come back in the same spot. New growth will come from the top!

Yep - sunburn but it’s ok as the others have said. Just try and keep her out of direct midday sun from now on.

Sunburn permanently damages the leaves. The burnt sections will dry out.
