Hi! Any help is appreciated, I have a string of heart for maybe a month or so and I have it in this pot which doesn’t have holes but it has rocks in the bottom. The soil looks firm and keeps developing these white spots and I’m not sure how to help her. Does it need to be repotted? I just want it to thrive ❤️

You need a pot with drainage especially for a succulent that does not like soggy soil! Rocks at the bottom won’t help at all. Id repot in a pot with drainage and take a look at the root ball, may have to downsize as well. Looks way too wet, they like to completely dry out in between waterings.

rocks at the bottom of your pot will actually impede drainage, something about the surface tension of water making it difficult for it to flow through the change in media. you can find plenty of helpful articles if you search online for “perched water tables in potted plants” that will help explain. even with proper drainage, string of hearts don’t do well in tall/deep pots. they are semi-succulent epiphytes with very shallow roots— typically they’ll only grow in the first inch or two of soil unless forced to grow deeper. the media you have your plant in is probably another big part of the reason your plant is struggling. it looks quite muddy and like it doesn’t have enough drainage material. i have several string of hearts plants and have found that their media should be very gritty and free-draining for a thriving plant. i mix lots of coarse perlite and pumice into my homemade potting mix so it’s at least 60% inorganic matter.
