Hi all! Not a plant disease per se, but I have a little Ficus and a Fiddle-leaf Fig and they are both losing all the leaves from the bottom and barely trying to push new ones out. They have been repotted last year around spring. The fig is a pretty old plant that I have used to propagate other ones from. Could i just cut the thin branch with leaves and make the bottom grow new ones? How would I go about that? And could i do the same with the ficus? Just cut all of it off and hope the stem starts growint leaves at some point? This ficus is a plant I have found and it was in a bad way. I repotted it and cared for it and for some time it thrived until this stage happened. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

The fiddle leaf fig is a headache in my opinion if she doesn’t like the way you’re treating her, I’ve never cut my plant off completely, but I’ve had pinched the top of it for branches to show. I did this one time when she just arrived at the house and it took a lot of energy to adapt. Lost leaves and I thought it was a goner, I pinch it and it got some growth.
