I seem to have mealy bugs on my fairy washboard succulent but I can’t really see them or get to them because the leaves are compact and aren’t flexible… Any tips on how to deal with it and where to put it for the time being?

I put it in my garage for now, there’s not enough light for it but everywhere else with good lighting already has plants and I don’t want the problem to spread…

I would put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and do your best to spray and get down in between the “leaves” as best you can. If the rubbing alcohol makes contact with the mealy bugs it should kill them. If you can’t see them, what makes you think you have mealy bugs?

I saw one around the top part of the plant and when I tried spreading it apart a bit I think I saw some others so I guess I’m kind of assuming but I’d rather be safe than sorry

Id you have one I’m sure there is more. Treat the whole plant like Allie suggested. 😊. Good luck!

I sprayed it today, had to go out to buy some rubbing alcohol. How will I know when it’s safe to put back with the other plants?

Thats a little tough to say if you can’t see them. I think I might spray the rubbing alcohol again after a handful of days and keep an eye out for any more signs of them. You could move it inside in a window but just not have it too near to any other plants. Maybe give it another week or 2 before putting it back close to another plant
