I got this plant a long time ago at a random Hannaford and it did well for a while, then at one random point it lost all of its leaves and just had those dry sticks around the whole top — with maybe one or two leaves left. Eventually more leaves started to grow (I found out it had severe root rot and fixed it) - But the dry twigs seemed to have stayed. Should i just break them off? Is that healthy? It has been able to grow healthy new leaves since then.

    After a major die back, they tend to lose some branches and keep others. You can trim off anything that hasn't made new leaves
