I have horrible gnats all over my place and there are coming from the soil. I change the soil to compost and it doesnāt change. I use hydrogen peroxide and nothing. What else can I do? I donāt want to throw my plants š

Use mosquito bits and sticky traps
9 gillningarsticky traps RULE for this, itāll kill your adult flies. for the egg bros in the soil, if hydrogen peroxide didnāt work, try using a dish soap solution. rinse your whole plant down before planting in new soil also :)
2 gillningarI have a plug in light sticky trap, sticky traps for each plant and I just repotted and mixed mosquito bits in the soil and watered them all with mosquito bit āteaā
3 gillningarLet soil dry out as much as possible and spray top of soil with hydrogen peroxide/water 1:4 mix. Be careful not to spray your plants. I did this a couple of times and the gnats were gone. šš¼š
1 gillaI use mosquito dunks in my watering can, let them soak at least 24 hours and never stop using it! One dunk will last about 30 days when continually refilling my 1.5 gallon jug. Iāve been doing it for over 2 years and only time Iāll see one is when itās getting close to changing the dunk! Itās the only thing that has worked! Good luck!
5 gillningarAll of the above are good options. I also use diatomaceous earth in my soil and a natural insecticide from a company called Bios. The trick is to kill the larvae as well as the adults, or else the problem will persist. Good luck!
4 gillningarIāve used organic essential oils mixed w water. Peppermint and/or eucalyptus. 1 drop per ounce. 16 ounce container-16 drops
2 gillningarAND sticky traps! lol work great for me everytime
0 gillningarYou can also try bottom watering, making sure the very top soil doesnāt get too moist. And sprinkle cinnamon on top to hopefully prevent the gnats from landing in the soil again once youāve treated with any insecticides š
2 gillningarReally glad you posted this I am going to try it out.(I am having the same issue) My fiancƩs momma is a mosquito bits stan. I was going to say neems oil but I am new to using it and not sure how it works.
1 gillaI had major gnat problems last year and the best advice I got was to put down the watering can and let that baby FULLY dry out, the gnats eat the fungus from the wet soil so if itās dry they have nothing to eat. then yellow sticky traps in every single plant. I also found that there were one or two plants that were causing the biggest issuesā¦. I would sit next to the plant for 30 min either killing them with a fly swatter/my hand or literally vacuuming them up with my hand held vacuum⦠that last method might be a little too feral for some but it worked for me
