Please help! My beautiful Hope is crying for help and I don’t know what’s wrong. I’ve had this plant for almost two years, she’s put out maybe two leaves in that time but has been dropping leaves like crazy recently and droopy. She’s in a south/west window, humidity is pretty normal in my apt, I water regularly, mist, and I’ve never seen bugs on her

How big is the root ball in comparison to the pot?

When I last repotted, it was as big as the palm of my hand and there were lots of thick, healthy roots

might be too big of a pot and causing rot at the bottom? I’d suggest pulling it out and checking. The pot should only be 1-2 inches bigger than the rootball. Also I can’t quite tell from the photo but just in case: add charcoal and orchid bark to the soil mix. These guys don’t like to sit in soggy soil.

I’m not sure if the pot is the issue. It has been having issues for a while and it was extremely root bound in a pot only slightly smaller than this one just about a month ago. It very well could be the soil mix tho so I will try that for sure

I agree with Tina that the pot is too big for the root ball. The plant should be able to use up all the water in the soil before the roots start to rot. So, the pot should only be slightly wider by 1”-2” than the root ball’s diameter. Down size to a pot slightly bigger than the root ball. Check for and clean root rot, if found. Check online videos on how to identify and clean out rot. 🪴🍀
