Why does the inside of my nerogelia look like this. It use to grow new leaves from here then a flower died inside, I took the dead flower out and now just a bunch of crust remains.

DoryIt’s a type of bromeliad. It grows, flowers, then dies. But it will shoot off babies before it fades away

Yea it’s just the flower never came out of the center tank
