I’ve taken over this rubber plant and had it for the past year. The first ten months with us it was in our conservatory where it was absolutely fine, producing new leaves. I then noticed all the leaves down one side are really brown (the side facing the sun, possibly scorched? Although it’s been in direct sun before). I’m watering it as per this app’s instructions as I know it doesn’t take much water. Is there any saving it? The leaves on the other side and at the top are fine but one side looking very sad. Have moved it out of the conservatory for the time being.

It definitely may be from the sun. I would add silica to your water. It will help with variegation scorching. Variegated parts are often less protected from the sun and more prone to getting burned. Make sure that you are checking the soil before each watering and at least once a week. My plants prefer to get watered a little more often. But it all depends on your soil type and how warm and humid your house is.

Also, how’s that Monstera doing in the background?

She’s also been recently moved out of the conservatory. Some leaves look awful but a bunch looking super healthy. Learning curve being a plant mum🫣

This plant looks over. Watered as well. Could also be underwater, but regardless, make sure that you are just using Planta as a reminder to check the soil on your plants. you may want to check the roots on this guy if the soil is still currently wet she will probably just continue to decline until you deal with the root rot.

Sometimes Planta is wrong about watering. It’s really more of a guide. And was wondering what you mean about “not needing much water”. Hopefully you are watering till water exits the drain hole and not meaning that you give them limited amount of water each time.

Hey Phil, yes until it exits the drain ☺️

If you need to water early or later, just be sure to record as such in Planta. The app will adapt the schedule.
