Ohh noo 😖!!! My snake plant has some white spots on the soil
what do I do? Will cinnamon help? Is this because the soil is too wet? There’s new leaves coming out and there’s no rot on the actual plant but I want to make sure Im not overwatering (I follow water schedule from Planta).

planta wants me to water my snake plant way more than it wants to be watered — only water when your soil is bone dry all the way to the bottom of the pot. this does look like fungus, and the soil of your snake plant shouldn’t really stay wet long enough to grow fungus, but this is not one I would be worried about. sprinkle some cinnamon i might even repot as I can see lots of roots and i hate when soil has those green fertilizer pellets in there

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me! I will make sure I put a label on so I don’t forget about not watering it until it dries out. I been meaning to repot but I want to make sure I feel confident I won’t accidentally kill the baby leaves coming out
 any tips?

ahh you won’t hurt them! just be gentle, shake out as much of the old soil as you can without breaking the roots (if a few break don’t worry, you’ve got a lot it looks like) if it even needs a larger pot, only go one size larger. i keep mine in a regular potting soil (i use fox farm ocean forest but whatever you have should be fine as long as you supplement) with extra perlite and some fine orchid bark. you don’t want your soil to hold onto water for long — the snake plant wants to use what it needs and have the rest dry up fast. terra cotta is a good option for these for that reason, aids in drying out
