Hello everyone! Was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what is wrong with my spider plant ? It just had a brown leaf that I cut off and it has these little string like things in the top of the soil😓

Those strings are nothing to harm your plant those little strings help with the propagation process of the plant that helps those tiny little blooms that can come in on the spider plant..

Thank goodness! That makes me feel so much better! I was getting really worried!! Do you think the color being to light could be a sign or anything ? It was starting to worry me as well

I would push it back just a little bit from the window so your foliage will become greener!!! Also as we start getting hotter days it doesn’t get burnt by the sun rays

Awe that’s so sweet I didn’t know that’s what was happening! I only bring it on the window (North East) when I water and leave it there for the day and put it back on my hanging shelf Should I stop watering it on the windowsill?

Oh no then that’s fine, if that’s the case your foliage is probably gonna be that light color, it’s probably that type of variegation of that spider plant

Fertilize and possibly increase the humidity. Brown tips are often a sign of low humidity ... among other things

I just fertilized but how often should I mist I do once a week should I do twice a week?

That would depend on how dry the environment is. Getting a small humidifier would be the best option or possibly a pebble tray would help keep the humidity up. If neither of those are an option missing more frequently would be helpful.

I had cut some of them because our cats had been chewing on them :(

Spider plants are actually kinda like catnip to cats so your kitty probably won’t stop munching on it haha. It produces mildly hallucinogenic effects I believe

No wonder after I left her on the windowsill for a couple hours she needed a huge haircut 😭
