My plant has a pest and it’s driving me nuts. I have tried to treat the l plant with neem oil and a neem oil mixture of water, peppermint oil and Castile soap and I can not get rid of these pests. These pests killed my Swiss cheese and I don’t want to loose any plants. I am sure this pest came on one of my plants that I acquired at a big box chain but I only notice them on vining plants. Why? How do I get rid of them for good? What makes them appear to begin with? What can I do to keep them away?

Neem does not work well on mealy bugs. You may want to try Arber or a different mealy bug specific pesticide. They generally come in on the plant, and they are excellent hiders, every nook and cranny needs to be sprayed and treated. You can also use a tip with alcohol to kill and wipe them up

Def agree. Forget anything else. Cotton swabs and pads with rubbing alcohol. Give it a good wipe with pads and get into the nooks with cotton swabs.

If you’re able to take them outside and give them a good blast from the water hose, depending where you live. Also I have submerged my plants in buckets of water with a little Dawn soap. Mealy bugs are hard to get rid of and can take a few tries.
