I’ve had this monstera for close to 4 years and the bottom leaves started yellowing. I cut off 3 a few months ago and two more are starting to look yellow. It sits in this corner with light from the sliding door (SOUTH) and the window behind it (EAST) Is this old growth? Or a watering issue? I’ve never had an issue with this plant but it hasn’t been putting out new growth lately

What a beauty 😍, let’s get it healthy again! You’re right losing a couple leaves wouldn’t be concerning but that many in a short time is worrisome. When was its last repot? Has anything changed in the last 3 months? Has it always been in this location (wondering if there’s a draft or less sun)? What’s the watering situation (how often, does it run right through or retain it, its needs changed at all)? Did you fertilize at all through winter?

Thank you :)) Repot might be the issue, it’s been in this pot for 2 years but it hasn’t grown through the bottom yet. I moved in August, so it’s been in this spot since then. I water with a fairly small watering can but it takes about 3-4 full cans before i see anything run through. I did not fertilize through the whole winter.

Ok, yah. I agree since it’s spring and it’s been awhile, I think repot is a great idea. It may not need a much bigger pot (don’t go more than 1” pot size beyond root ball diameter, their roots like to stay cozy) but a soil refresh will do it good. Between old soil and no fertilizer it might just be lacking nutrients - it likely wants to start growing again but just doesn’t have all it needs so it’s dropping leaves to conserve what it’s got. Seems like it gets a lot of sun in that spot too. Is this a brighter spot than its previous one? I know once I moved mine into full sun it started to get fenestrations like crazy

That’s a good idea, I’ll try a new pot I believe it’s in a 14 inch now so would a 15/16 be good? It is brighter! My old apartment had one window in the living room and it was blocked in by my balcony, so I think he’ll be much happier here :)

It looks like a fabulous location! For size I’d see what the root ball looks like when you pull it out of the pot. You’ll want to got about an 1” bigger diameter than that.
