Anyone know what causes gashes in the leaves of a zebra plant? I’m very new to plant parenthood and my little zebra plant has lost a lot of its larger leaves due to what looks like some sort of disease. It has new growth, so I’m not concerned about it trying to die off, but I do want to figure out what’s going on. Here are pics of what the diseased part looks like starting out and what it grows into before losing the leaf.

If it’s right in the window, the sun could have reflected off of something small outside and focused the light to burn a hole. Does it look burnt or something else? Can’t fully tell.

It isn’t burnt that is just the necrosis spreading. Some of the diseased parts also started when it was still inside the store not receiving any sunlight. Thank you for the suggestion though! That’s good to know for the future cause I hadn’t even thought about that as a potential cause.

Look on the underside of the leaves to see if there are any critters living there.

I would agree with others - it’s either a bug or the sun.
