I have my triostar in my living room with two south facing windows but it’s about 8ft from the closest window. At first I had it about 16ft but it the back of the plant looks like the pictures below. I brought it closer and it seems to be doing better but does this seem like a light or watering issue? I’ve been trying to water when I feel the top 1.5 inch of soil is dry.. which seems like it is frequently earlier than the app recommends… The pot is only about 4 inches

Last watered five days ago (with filtered water) and the soil was already dry 2inches down today. But the app is not recommending for 9days… and then after watering it says is not recommending watering until 27days. Picture of the front

I don’t water mine until it’s all the way dry. Significant amounts of humidity to try and keep crispy tips at bay. Here’s mine. Currently battling a fungus maybe (????) she’s about 1/3 smaller than she was in the fall. I think it’s a beautiful plant so I’m just talking to her A LOT and trying about 100 things to keep her alive til spring

Wow! I’ve read that it the soil should be moist… not all the way dry. But yours is definitely beautiful! They are humidity loving plants and I try to keep it humid for her but I am thinking it was too far from the window. I tried to keep it back because of the full sun and they like part sun but i think she needs more light. We will see I guess!

I’ve seen that they like medium amounts of water. My issue is historically I overwatered…….now I probably err on the side of under watering. Sometimes I track in the app what the digital reading on my water meter is if I water before it’s at zero. Also, I typically only check about 3” down (blue tape on my meter to show me how deep) not to the bottom of the pot. Sooooooo, maybe it’s still moist on the bottom.

looks like it wasn’t getting enough light, and there might be an issue with the roots or media that it’s in. as for the watering schedule, i would recommend checking the settings for the plant and site to make sure they’re correct. if everything’s right, you might want to try setting a custom watering schedule for five days or so to check the soil and adjust as needed

Isn’t this a high humidity requiring plant?

I say yes based on experience. If I don’t have a humidifier near mine it definitely gets brown tips, sides, entire leaves 😬
