Hoya Kerri turning yellow? Looking sad. This one has been doing well for about a year now and suddenly has started looking bad. The leaves are turning yellow and the little connection between the bottom leaves it's squishy? I don't understand why because I let the plant dry out between watering. It's hard for me tk tell the difference between overwatering sad and under watering sad! Help! How do I save her?

definitely check the roots for rot and check if the stem base is firm or squishy. the best way to know when to water is to stick a wooden skewer or something into the soil, if it comes out clean and dry its all good to water!

Make sure it has sufficient light if the roots are good. Low light can cause yellowing and dropped leaves. Sun angles change in autumn. The plant could be getting less light if it relies on sunlight. Excess fertilizer can cause burns leaving the plant yellow. The plants need less fertilizer as growing slows in the colder months. Adjust the fertilizer routine, if needed. 🪴🍀

We are under a grow light for 12 hours each day, we've got a humidifier, I checked the roots today and they are dry????

But we also lost two leaves that weren't even yellow? The little stem-bit that connects the leaf to the main body was squishy and darker colored and the leaves were fine??? But the lower leaves are droopy and yellow and sad

You might have a fungus, bacteria or a virus affecting it. They usually start with overwatering that leads to rot. The infection grows up from the lower leaves towards the top tip. I’m not fully confident since the roots are dry. You have no pests. So, something from the roots is affecting your plant to make the leaf stem rot while the leaves are still green. I would replace the soil and treat the roots and tools with hydrogen peroxide. Disinfect the pot. I would check the amount of light that reaches the plant. You can find the light meter app online or in Planta. Check online for the amount of light the plants need to see if your grow light is strong enough or close enough to the plant. My first set of grow lights were too weak even with them 1 foot from the plants. 🪴🍀

Another thing about this Hoya is that it hasn't grown a lick since I bought it, and another Hoya I have (have had for five years) also hasn't grown. They aren't??? Dead???? But not growing
