Thoughts on our fiddle leaf fig? We’re thinking it’s either a lack of light or that we need to repot the plant. Thanks!

I would definitely try to give it more light first before repotting it as it might overly stress the plant. Cut off any pieces of leaf that are dead so that the plant can focus on recovering in new leaves. It may also be a lack of water or too much.

These plants are so tricky and finicky. Do you have it too close to a vent. They hate air. Try using a humidifier or pebble tray. The brown spots have to do with under-watering. I could not get the watering right on one of mine until I put it in a self watering pot. Do not use Tap water!!! That will help drastically with change. Cut off the tips with brown spots. The leaves damaged everywhere else it’s no saving those.

This has developed better leaves just from changing it into a self watering pot

Thanks so much for the reply! The self watering pot seems like a good investment especially for this big of a plant.

Definitely try more light or a plant light first. I see some mature figs in small pots, so I wouldn't be quick to repot. My fog in my office in front of a north tinted window is very happy. My fig at home under a grow light is in and out of my plant cemetery.
